Parker Knoll at Lee Longlands

Parker Knoll Furniture

The story began in 1869 with a small chairmaking business handcrafting the finest chairs for the Victorian gentry. In 1931 Parker Knoll was founded and, although many of their collections were made in the 1930s, they are still as popular and beautiful today.

High quality furniture from Parker Knoll

With 140 years of experience behind them, Parker Knoll remains a symbol of excellence and outstanding British quality.  Parker Knoll sofas are handmade in Britain to a high standard by the company’s rural Derbyshire-based craftsmen and women.

Parker Knoll combines the finest timber and materials with the latest developments in recliner technology, transforming the everyday sitting experience.  High quality, distinctive design and attention to detail have established Parker Knoll at the heart of UK furniture manufacturing

In fact, Parker Knoll are so proud of and confident in their craftsmanship that they offer a 25-year frame guarantee on their products, providing welcome peace of mind.

Which types of furniture do Parker Knoll offer?

Parker Knoll offer a range of seating to suit all tastes, including armchairs, wing chairs, recliner chairs, and small and large sofas in static and reclining options.

Parker Knoll supply armchairs, wing chairs and recliner chairs.

An armchair can be used to accent a room or as an accompaniment to a 2 or 3 seater sofa.  They use arms to give you better support when sitting or standing up.

The wing chair has plenty of traditional appeal with its wings and high back.  Famous for its place beside the fire, a wing chair can also be placed in a foyer or guest room to signify style and comfort – as well as provide a place to put on socks or shoes.  They also make a fantastic place to sit down with a good book.

Recliners allow you to put your feet up, offering plenty of comfort and support.  Both manual and power recliners are available.  Parker Knoll recliners are easy to operate and use the latest technology to offer a smooth recline.

Small sofas

A small Knoll sofa is equivalent to a 2 seater sofa and ranges in size from 140cm to 175cm in length.  140cm models such as the Albany or Boston are an excellent option for a more compact living room, but can also accompany a large sofa and armchair in a bigger lounge to entertain guests.

Small sofas can also be used to add seating to other areas of the house, such as a guest room.

Static options are the cheapest of the options and so useful for keeping costs down.  They also require the least room as they don’t need enough space for a footrest.  If you aren’t sure whether a footrest is right for you, you can always purchase a static option and accompany this with a footstool at a later date.

Manual recliners are the most cost effective of the recliner options, combining good value with great relaxation.  As their components are cheaper, they are also cheaper to have repaired.

A power recliner can be closed without requiring much lower body strength, as the recliner will move up and down at the touch of a button.  Because the footrest is opening and closing in a controlled manner, the recliner sofa will also experience less wear and tear.

Large sofas

A large sofa may be a 3 seater sofa or a large 2 seater.  These sofas come in lengths of up to 207cm, but can be as small as 192cm, like the Westbury.

A large sofa makes a great centrepiece for the living room, providing room for guests and family members.  You can spoil yourself and guests with a relaxing manual or power recliner option, or save money and space with a static model.

What fabrics are available?

Parker Knoll sofas are available in fabric and leather.

The company’s extensive fabric collection includes plains, stripes, and classic designs in damasks, velvets and chenilles, so you can tailor your sofa range to your décor.

A patterned, mid-blue or grey fabric sofa works well for families and people with pets, as these styles and colours are better at camouflaging stains.  Fabric options are also a more cost effective option.

You can purchase a Parker Knoll fabric sofa in a range of bold colours and big patterns which are fantastic for brightening up the room or making a statement.

By contrast, leather sofas provide a simpler, more classic look and offer plenty of longevity.  Parker Knoll source their leathers from the finest tanneries worldwide, and a wide selection of attractive colours are available.
