High Back Chairs

A high back chair supports your head, neck, shoulders as well as your back, which makes it comfortable for longer sits: reading, watching television or an afternoon nap. Wing chairs and fireside chairs

A wing chair has side panels at head height, a design that goes back to the days when they kept draughts off the sitter by the fire. Today the wings give you somewhere to rest your head. We stock wing chairs from Parker Knoll and Spink & Edgar.

High back recliners

If you want to put your feet up, many of our high back recline. Stressless makes up the largest part of this range, which chairs sold with a matching footstool and power recliners that move at the touch of a button. Some Stressless models, such as the Magic, come in small, medium and large, so you can choose the size that fits you.

For the home office

Stressless also makes high back office chairs, which bring the same seat and back support to a desk.

How to check the fit

Sit right back in the chair. Your feet should rest flat on the floor, and there should be a small gap between the front of the seat and the back of the knees. The top of the backrest should reach at least the back of your head. If you find it hard to get up from a low seat, look for a higher seat and firm arms you can push up from.
