Dining Table Sets

A dining set gives you a table and chairs chosen to go together and sold as one item. Most of our sets come with four chairs, and several come with three chairs and a bench. These are the things to check before you choose.

How many people will sit at it?

As a rough guide, allow about 60cm of table edge for each person. If you often have guests, look at the sets with an extending table: the table opens out when you need it. Several of the chairs in our sets are also sold on their own, so you can add more to match.

Fixed or extending?

A fixed table is simpler and has no join in the top. An extending table takes up less room day to day and opens out for guests. Many of our sets have extending tables, including round ones. Check the product page for the size both closed and fully open, and make sure the open size fits your room.

Round or rectangular?

A round table has no corners and no head of the table, which suits a square room or a smaller space. A rectangular table seats more people along its length and suits a longer room. The tables in our sets range from 120cm to 200cm, and the size is usually part of the product name.

Leave room to pull the chairs out

Measure the room, not just the table. Leave about 90cm between the table edge and the wall or the next piece of furniture, so people can pull out a chair and walk behind it. If space is tight, a backless bench can be pushed under the table when it is not in use.

Tables and chairs

Our sets include oak tables and ceramic topped tables. Chairs vary from set to set: there are ladder back oak chairs, chairs covered in linen or eco leather, and swivel dining chairs. The full specification is on each product page.

Building your own set

If none of the sets is quite right, you can put your own together from our dining tables, extending tables, dining chairs and benches. Clearance sets are listed separately.
